Baseball

We love summer, because we love baseball. All summer long you can see dark circles under Casey and my eyes, because we are up to the wee hours of the morning watching the Angels play on the west coast. And we love our local minor league team, the single A affiliate of the Nationals. Andrew gets to run the bases after the game (which is funny because he has no idea what he's doing or where he's going, and always gets confused) and once even got a game ball.

This is Andrew's 1st time running the bases. He had no idea what to do, so Casey told him just to follow the girl in front of him. Note that he misses all the bases, and the mascot, "Uncle Slam", shamelessly calls Andrew out at 2nd. He also had to wear his hat backwards, like the kids on the Sandlot.

At the next game, Casey decided to coach Andrew before his big run, and instructed him to make sure to hit all the bases ("the white things") and that he should finish at home plate, and pointed to where the batter was standing. Unfortunately, as you'll see in the video, Andrew was confused as to which "white thing" where the batter was standing that he should go to.

Mother's Day

Andrew's preschool class hosted a Mother's Day Tea for the moms in the class. They sang some songs, wrote notes, and were generally very cute. Note the little girl in the pink shirt next to him; her name is Kenna, and she is the only girl in the class that Andrew wants to play with over the summer. He says, "I like Kenna. Kenna is beautiful." Uh oh...

It poured on Mother's Day, so we opened the front door to watch the show. Willa just had to share it with her 2 favorite toys, Doggy and Puppy. She reads to them, makes them take naps, feeds them, and likes to sleep with them (yes they are hard plastic, don't ask me how that can be comfortable). She stood in front of the door saying, "See Doggies and Puppys, see rain. It's raining it's pouring the old man is snoring."
